Dr. Ali's research focuses on graph theory and its applications. For networking graph theory is employed to develop and optimize routing algorithms, among other things.
A wide variety of applications, aside from the field of networking can be found for graph theory. Everything from 3D visualization algorithms to research in the field of Bioinformatics depends on algorithms resulting from efforts in the field of graphs and graph theory. This makes Dr. Ali's work and expertise a valuable addition to our own work.
The Telecommunications Engineering Laboratory and Dr. Ali's wireless network research group are currently working on a joint project to establish a wireless testbed. This will allow our groups to both independently and in collaboration research numerous issues centered around wireless network issues in both technology and protocols.
