4x4 MIMO Wireless Channel Emulator Infrastructure Deployment
TEL lab selected Azimuth Systems ACE-400WB as the channel emulator of choice for our research
Enables repeatable and controlled measurements of wireless devices
Emulates wide range of channel conditions, such as Multipath, Doppler shift, Shadowing, etc.

Information
Driven by the needs for more controlled measurements of wireless device performance characteristics identified through our FRA project we concluded that the best enhancement of our research capabilities in this area can only be achieved through a comprehensive wireless channel emulation solution.

After we were able to secure funding for this infrastructure enhancement through a grant from the Nebraska Research Initiative (NRI) we then surveyed the available solutions for thei capabilities and how well these potential solutions would address research requirements. In the end, we selected the ACE-400 WB from Azimuth Systems. it provides a comprehensive set of capabilities that addressed all of our needs, especially the capacity to perform fully bidirectional 4x4 MIMO wireless channel emulation for frequency ranges from 2.4 GHz to 6 GHz, allowing us to use the device for our ongoing efforts in WiFi and WiMAX alike.

We foresee this new environment to not only significantly enhance our research capabilities but also to provide a much richer educational experience to our students.
