Information
One of the major current research interests is in the field of sensor networks. The interest in sensor networks is rapidly increasing because of their application in security sensitive areas.

What makes research in sensor networks such an interesting field is the limitations of the devices. Since they are very small they only have a limited power supply. So management of power consumption is one major research area. Another area is the routing of information across the wireless network. Each sensor has to act as a router. The sensors have to be intelligent enough to determine an optimal way of getting the information across the wireless sensor network to a data acquisition unit.

TEL is currently in the process of establishing our own wireless sensor network test environment to investigate different research areas.
